The Mosaic Desert Theatre Scholarship recognizes graduating seniors who have demonstrated dedication, creativity, and a commitment to the performing arts. This scholarship is intended to support students who have made meaningful contributions to theatre and who plan to continue their involvement in the arts after high school.
Application Timeline- Applications Open: August 1, 2026- Application Deadline: February 28, 2027
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:-
Be a graduating high school senior, including public school, private school, charter school, or homeschool students.-
Have participated in a theatrical production within the past 12 months, or be cast in a production scheduled to perform before the application deadline.- Reside in the Casa Grande area or have participated in a local theatre program or production.-
Plan to continue their involvement in theatre, performing arts, technical theatre, arts education, or other creative endeavors after graduation.- Submit a completed application by the published deadline. Application Requirements Applicants must submit:-
A resume or list of theatrical involvement, including productions, roles, technical positions, leadership positions, training, workshops, and related activities.- ONE of the following: – A letter of recommendation from a theatre director, teacher, instructor, or mentor. –
A personal essay (500–750 words) explaining how theatre has impacted their life, their future goals, and how they plan to remain involved in the arts after high school.
Selection Criteria Applications will be evaluated based on the following: Theatrical Participation (40%)- Breadth and depth of involvement in theatre and the performing arts.- Participation may include acting, technical theatre, stage management, directing, music, costumes, makeup, playwriting, design, or other production-related roles.- Quality and consistency of involvement will be considered over the number of productions alone. Personal Statement or Recommendation (30%)- Demonstrated passion for theatre and the arts.- Strength of recommendation or quality of written response. Future Involvement in the Arts (20%)- Plans to remain involved in theatre, performing arts, arts education, technical theatre, or other creative pursuits after graduation.- Applicants are not required to pursue a theatre degree or arts-related career. Continued participation in community theatre, educational programs, creative projects, or other artistic endeavors will be considered equally valuable. Community and Service (10%)- Volunteer work, school involvement, mentorship, advocacy, or other contributions that positively impact the community or support the arts.
Scholarship Awards Award amounts may vary annually based on available funding.
